The scissor jacks we sell such as the # JSC-30-IND are meant to stabilize a trailer so it doesn't rock or pitch as you're walking around inside. The primary reason is that the jacks of this type that we carry aren't meant for changing tires is that the jacks are meant to be permanently installed on the underside of a trailer. If they're not bolted in place to the trailer frame, the jack could very easily slip off the jack and cause injury.

Jacking a dual axle trailer high enough to raise the front tires off of the ground is not how the jack is designed. All of the weight of the trailer in front of the rear axle and the weight of the axles springs wheels and tires would be on the jack and at that point it would be at an angle. Jacks are rated for loads that are mostly up and down and not at an angle. This situation will most likely cause any wheel to fail.

From what I could find, most Magic Tilt trailers use bolt-on swivel jacks. Based on the size of your 2014 Coleman 262BH camper, I recommend going with a jack rated for 3,500 lbs. This is the most common size electric jack out there, so the good news is you have quite a few options. Keep in mind, the jack does not have to be rated for the weight of your trailer because it is only lifting the tongue weight of your trailer, but I will admit that jack weight capacities really don't make much sense for trailer tongue weights or gross vehicle weights.

When you need to remove a hub from your 5th wheel trailer to do wheel bearing inspection and re-packing you'll want to use a jack that lifts the trailer at the I-beam at the side of the frame. We have a variety of side mount trailer jacks, however, all of which are manual crank. The only electric jacks available are for a-frame trailers. Although we do not have an electric jack that attaches to the side of the trailer frame, we do however have several options with a drop leg feature that will eliminate the need for strenuous cranking.
